Obituary
Edith Diane Gonzales, of Bakersfield, California, passed away on November 8th, 2022 after a long and valiant battle with stroke-related conditions. She was surrounded by friends, family, and her husband Pedro Norman Villalon in her final days and as she crossed over to be with The Lord.
Diane was born on October 11, 1952, to Luis and Pauline Gonzales in Bakersfield, California. After Diane graduated from East Bakersfield High in 1970, she went on to study Cosmetology at Lyle’s Beauty College, graduating in 1974.
After graduating from beauty college, Diane began her career at Sebastian’s Hair Styling as a Hair Stylist.
On January 21, 1971, Diane married her childhood sweetheart Bobby Ponte in Las Vegas, Nevada. Diane and Bobby had one child together, a son, Bobby Ponte Jr.
In 1982, Diane married David Redmond in Bakersfield, California. Diane and David had four children together, Mike, Larry, Bill, and Kaycee Redmond.
On May 2, 2001, Diane married Pedro Norman Villalon in Hot Sulphur Springs, Colorado. They lived in various states throughout the years including California, Nevada, and Colorado.
In 2018, Diane retired from Core-Mark Distributors and spent her time traveling with her husband and being with family and friends.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Luis and Pauline Gonzales. She is survived by her brothers Louie, Steve, and Tom, her sisters Laura, Monica, Yolanda, and Patricia, her children Bobby, Mike, Larry, Bill, and Kaycee, her Grandchildren Kelly, Chloe, Cyrus, Cesar Jr, Isabella, Arianna, Leila, Zoie, Maxson, and many loving Nieces and Nephews.
Services were held on December 3, 2022, in an intimate ceremony for a large group of friends and family. Diane’s ashes were interred in the oceans of Pismo Beach, California, and Morro Bay, California on December 10, 2022. These were two of her favorite locations, where she spent some of her best family times.
